The material transfer agreement was signed between the Institut de recherche pour le développement (IRD) and Institute of Vertebrate Biology, Czech Academy of Science, Czech Republic, dated 20 October 2025.
This research is conducted in Nakai District, Khammouane Province, Lao PDR, and focuses on the analysis of 150 soil samples to assess soil health and detect parasites that may affect ecosystems, agriculture, and public health.

- The applicant is required to share the research results and related publications with the local project partners and the Lao ABS Authority, in acknowledgment of the resource providers.
- This permission is granted solely for the specific research described above.
- Should any further experiments on the genetic resources or their digital sequence information be intended for commercialization purposes, the Institut de Recherche pour le Développement (IRD) and the Institute of Vertebrate Biology of the Czech Academy of Sciences, Czech Republic, must notify the Lao ABS Authority and the local partner in order to establish a new ABS Agreement.
- The applicant is required to acknowledge the country of origin of the genetic resources when generating or using digital sequence information (DSI) derived from those resources.
The soil samples collected as mentioned above shall not be transferred to any third party without prior permission from the Lao ABS Authority and the local implementing partner in Lao PDR.
The soil samples will be exported from Lao PDR to the Institute of Vertebrate Biology of the Czech Academy of Sciences, Czech Republic, for the study of soil health and the detection of parasites that may affect ecosystems, agriculture, and public health, through DNA extraction and analysis using Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR).
